Project protocol¶
General¶
The project log corresponds to the logging of changes in the project. The designer generates a so-called “ChangeLog” entry for a change, which is saved in the database
Use of project logging¶
The project log is deactivated by default. To activate this you have to change the configuration entry to “True” in the designer options. Attention: This change has a global effect! In other words, if the project log is activated, this is not limited to the current project, but is now carried out for every project. The entry can be found under:Options-> Designer-> Options-> General-> Log project changes”

Surface¶
The changes in the project are shown in a table. This can be found via the entry “Project protocol” in the project tree

The following information can be found in the table:
The type of the element (e.g., Num-Tag) with the addition of class or instance
Name
The version number (is automatically increased with every change)
Who made the change
When the change was made
A short description (e.g., a process variable was created)
A comment that is currently entered in the metadata
The name of the picture that was changed and the position of the changed element

Version number¶
The version number of an element is set via the metadata. In addition to automatic incrementing when changes are made, you can also set the version number yourself. This is done via the “Metadata” dialog.

Note
Each digit of the version number can be changed. However, the new version number must be “higher” than the old one.
Description¶
The text of the description is not multilingual. The generated text is stored one to one as a string in the database!
Changes not recorded / logged¶
The following operations are logged in the designer:
Creation of new objects
Deleting objects
hanges to property values
The following operations are not logged (in the image area):
Changing of geometry information (position, scaling …)
De- / activation of attribute groups in classes of pictures and picture elements
Delete entries¶
It is possible to delete entries from the table. A line must be marked for this. The entry can then either be deleted using the “Del” key or the context menu (“Delete”). Multiple selection is also possible.
