Projects and templates¶
General information¶
PROCON-WEB supports templates such as those known from Microsoft © Word, for example. With projects that are always similar, you can save yourself a lot of time and work by cleverly creating a template. Templates are saved with the ending “.pwt” in the WorkData-folder of the designer and contain all the information required for this template. This makes it very easy to transfer templates from one computer to another.
Creation of templates¶
Each PROCON-WEB project can also be saved as a template. To do this, change the project type from project to template in the “Save project as” dialog.”

Save the project as a template¶
In addition, you can enter a description of the template and select an image for the template. By default, a screenshot of the start picture is displayed, but this can be replaced by your own picture.
Image and description are displayed when the templates are selected.
Create projects from templates¶
If you want to create a new project in the PROCON-WEB Designer, click on “New Project” or “File” in the ribbon tab “Project Environment” -> “New project”. This opens the so-called “Backstage” area of the PROCON-WEB Designer, and you can see all currently available templates.

Templates in the backstage area¶
You can now select the template you want, assign a name to the new project and, if necessary, change the target system.
When creating a new project, the file name can also be entered in addition to the project name. The maximum length is 128 characters for each. The file name is optional, the project name is required. If the file name is not edited, the project name is also used as the file name. This is the same if you leave the field for the file name empty or delete it.
A click on “Ok” creates the new project based on the selected template.
